DRINKS
I should like to remind you that children are to bring only
water-bottles.
This practice is both for personal health and environmental issues.
The coloured, sweet drinks tend to make a mess when spilt, and also bring
trails of ants!
We are always happy to provide refills of water for the children.

STATIONERY REQUIREMENTS
As you will
see from the enclosed list, you need to provide only certain specified items
for your child.
This is
because Acorn Academy provides all their basic stationery – exercise books,
folders etc.
Please
fulfil the requirements of the list conscientiously and remember to
top up your
child’s pencil case with any vital items which may have been used up or gone
missing last year
2 x HB pencils, plus 1H for geometry (from Year
5)
2 blue ballpoint pens (for older children)
red and green ballpoint pens (one of each)
yellow highlighter (may need replacing during year)
rubber
ruler
pencil sharpener
colouring pencils
gluestick
pencil case
maths instruments in box (from Year 3) – note that ‘holey’ protractors
don’t work well
simple calculator (from Year 3)
clipboard (essential for trips) – please buy light plastic type, NOT
heavy hardboard ones
Art students (Tuesday afternoon) will also require an A3 art block, plus
drawing wallet (18N9)
ALL ITEMS SHOULD BE CLEARLY NAMED

PIANO LESSONS
These are available while your child is at Acorn Academy with our
resident piano teacher, Sabrina.
Please contact me if you are interested in your child learning this
important instrument.
